We’re stoked to announce the first ever showing of the completed boards created for the Board Art Benefit will be held at the Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery in Solana Beach on the evening of January 21st. It will be a one night only event from 6:00 until 10:00 pm. All of the finished boards will be on display in this beautiful gallery run by Aaron Chang and Board Art Benefit artist Wade Koniakowsky. A group of renowned artists has painted a series of surfboards donated by Firewire to be auctioned for SurfAid at the Yallingup Surfilm Festival in Western Australia in January 2012.

Surfboards have been painted by artists including Peter Webb, Ozzie Wright, Duncan Liddle, Daniel Joyce, Marie Johanna, Jos Myers, Reif Myers, John Sara, Tylan Lambert and Stuart McMillan.

The unique art surfboards have been placed in shops and cafes in Yallingup, Dunsborough and Perth. There will be a live auction of the boards at the festival at 6.30pm on Sunday 22 January at Clancy’s Fish Pub, Dunsborough.  ...read more
