Last Friday night, in conjunction with the Boost Mobile SurfSho at Bondi Beach, SurfAid threw a party to thank the community that supports the work we do. Guests were treated with complimentary Coronas and Madfish Sideways Wine, nibblies from Nandos and a great mix of live music and a speech from SurfAid’s founder Dr Dave.

Shapers and artists join forces for SurfAid!

Be sure to visit SurfAid at its “Shapers4Humanity” exhibition at Sacred Craft in Santa Cruz, CA on March 19-20, 2011.  SurfAid is sponsoring one of the two surfboard shaping bays at Sacred Craft and will host a one-of-a-kind shaping exhibition called “Shapers4Humanity.”  The exhibition will feature shapers and artists collaborating on boards in front of an audience with the shared goal of creating awareness for SurfAid.

The shaping bay will feature legendary shapers who will be shaping iconic designs that have influenced modern surfing.  Shapers include Hawaii’s Pat Rawson and John Carper, Mike Minchington of Robert August, Stretch Boards’ William "Stretch” Riedel and Bing Surfboards’ Matt Calvani.  In addition to the shaping exhibitions, world-famous artist Drew Brophy will be painting a gun that has been donated by Gary Linden. ...read more
