SurfAid at Sacred Craft: Shapers4Humanity

SurfAid International USA partnered with Sacred Craft to showcase some of the surf industry’s top craftsman at SurfAid’s ‘Shapers4Humanity’ exhibition on 18-19 March.

Legendary shapers Pat Rawson, John Carper, Mike Minchington (Robert August Surfboards), Matt Calvani (Bing Surfboards) and Stretch Riedel recreated iconic shapes that have influenced the modern surfing era.   The shaped boards are from every generation of surfing and represent a wide variety of wave riding types, including a ‘70s Lopez tribute board and a 10’6” Mavericks gun. ...read more



Garage Sale Success

The Garage Sale at the Sugarmill Fine Surf Emporium at Narrabeen, Sydney, on Sunday 10 April was epic and raised more than $500 for SurfAid. A big thanks to Chongy and the gang for their support.

This swap meet was part of a larger collaborative project called the Garage Sale Trail powered by 25 local councils in Australia. The Trail, which has enlisted support from the arts, media, fashion, design and surf industries, encourages sustainability, creativity community and a lot of fun with the concept of people coming together to turn their old stuff into someone else’s new stuff. ...read more



Join SurfAid's 2011 Paddle for Humanity

SurfAid is proud to once again partner with Watermans Applied Science in bringing you the Paddle for Humanity – now a three-race series with stops in Dana Point, CA, Deerfield Beach, FL and Washington, DC.  
 
Paddle for Humanity follows WPA rules and recognizes divisions in both Paddleboarding and Stand Up Paddle (SUP).  Choose to participate in the 6-mile competitive race or the 2-mile fun paddle.
 
All proceeds benefit SurfAid International providing much needed funding for SurfAid’s programs in the Mentawai and Islands.  ...read more



Garage Sale Trail supports SurfAid

The national Garage Sale Trail will be gutsier than ever with industry support from The Sugarmill Fine Surf Emporium along with the country's most renowned surfers, artists, musicians, fashion crowd and cultural philanthropists, all coming together to spread the message of sustainability, creativity and community. Sounds cool and even better that this year, the Surf/Art Garage Sale is donating its proceeds to SurfAid.
