| “I can’t tell you anything but the truth.” These words, sung by Jack Johnson in his latest studio album, To The Sea, define the ethos of a man born and raised in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. You could say it was a father’s solo sail from California to Hawaii that opened his son’s future fate and underpinned it with a personal mythology, but it was Jack’s ability to learn his own lessons from life and the sea that birthed his astonishing alchemy of music and poetry. In 2010, Jack Johnson will release his newest album, To The Sea, on his own label Brushfire Records and embark on another world tour. To The Sea was recorded at his solar-powered studio and will be released in eco-friendly packaging. His world tour will continue to lead the way in sustainable touring efforts to reduce its environmental impact in significant ways. This year’s All At Once campaign will focus on supporting non-profit groups and engaging fans in the realms of plastic waste reduction and sustainable local food systems. As in 2008, Jack Johnson will once again donate 100% of his tour profits to charity. |
